The Big idea "Fables"

In the book "Fables" one big idea that I am able to understand from the story is that it’s hard to get used to a new environment when you grew up differently or come from another place. For example, in "Fables" all the fairy tale characters ended up in New York after they were kicked out of there world. They didn't like the fact that they had to hide their real lives from all the people that surrounded them.
The wolf had to hide his real form and disguised himself as a human. In his old fairy tale land the wolf was bad; he blew down the pig’s house down and tried to eat them for dinner. In the Fable Town that was created for all fairy tale characters wolfs life was different, he was the sheriff of the town, and he had to take care of the pig because he didn’t have a home and didn’t want to go to upstate. Wolf only had a studio apartment to his name. This was a sign for the wolf that he had to adjust to his new life like it or not because he had more responsibilities in the modern world. All the monsters that didn't look human and could not disguise themselves would have to live in farms in upstate New York. They hated the fact that they had to hide and cannot reveal themselves to world because they knew there town would be vulnerable to outsiders. An example would be the pig which lived with wolf after wolf had destroyed his house, the pig hated the fact that he had to go upstate and would escape every time and go back to wolf. People would be afraid when they would see the pig run around the city, the pig himself looked very afraid. The beast was having problems with his wife because she could not do anything with him since he was not in human form; she hated that and wanted to get a divorce. Prince charming wanted to be rich but in fact he was no prince in New York so he was poor and depended in girls he slept with to take care of him. For example, prince charmed a girl in a diner and told her he didn’t have money but would like to do something with her, she agreed and had a one night stand. When the girl woke up he left a note saying if she can do his laundry and he had taken a few dollars. Since she liked him she did it. Prince had to use his looks to maneuver throughout the city to live, and to communicate with the society, since it was his only strength.
Therefore this big idea that the comic book “Fables” gives to the readers is very understandable and true. It’s not easy to adjust to new surroundings especially when you are used to your old town and seeing the same faces. For the fairy tale characters they see that New York is different and very diverse, they aren’t used to that, they are creatures from another world. It is to say many can relate to the big idea when they are moving from one country to another, or moving from one state to another, life is different and you have to change your own in order to survive, and feel comfortable.

Bigby (the big bad wolf) in Fables...

The big bad wolf is known as Bigby in Fables. Bigby was made sheriff by Snow White which is the major of Fable town which is New York City but all the characters from the fairy tales had named it differently since its were they hide. They were all forced out of their real homes by the adversary. Jack had come to Bigby so he can help him find out what had happened to his girlfriend Rose Red. Bigby then went to snow white to tell her that her sister was missing, and he was going to start investigating. Bigby apparently hides his real form of a wolf into a human since he is in a world that is no fairy tale. But since he is a wolf he uses his instinct to find out who hurt Rose Red, he smells the blood in the crime scene, he tries to scare people into telling the truth as well, and he almost looked like a hunter. Snow white desperately tells Bigby to find out who it was. So he interviews all the fairy tales characters that are known for their bad behaviors such as Bluebeard, and even jack since he looked suspicious himself. Separating the crime scenes, Bigby takes care of the pig, which he had destroyed his home in the fairy tale, but now is giving him a home, and doesn’t eat him. The pig also is like a helper of Bigby because he spy’s on Snow White when she went to see prince charming, Bigby has taken responsibilities to not be bad, and actually do a good for the fable community. So Bill Willingham says that the character is revealed through adversity. Bigby goes threw many adversity since he is the sheriff of the Fable town, and it’s his responsibility to take care of everyone from the bad, almost as he is a hero. Of course some of the problems he has is that he likes Snow White and he tries just about anything to stay with her at all time. For the crime they are always together. Even though the pig is like a friend to Bigby, its still a problem for him because he provides a home for it when he is not even comfortable in his little studio. He also tries not to be tempted to eat the pig, which for him seems a good meal. Its also a problem because all the creatures that don't look human have to live upstate new york, be the pig always escapes and comes back to his house. But his biggest problem was to actually find out who supposedly killed Rose Red.

Cinderella in todays world ?

I think Cinderella in today’s world wouldn’t be so successful or have a happy ending story, but all the guys find her very attractive because of her beauty. To me Cinderella would have dropped out of high school. Working two jobs as a waitress or at a bar. Also she would have a bunch of kids running around like crazy with her, nothing to feed them since she is to busy paying bills. Her boyfriend might have been one of those guys that did her a one night stand and just left her with all the kids. So now she’s out there looking for some rich guy so he can maintain her and her family.

Little red riding hood SEx?

Little red riding hood is known to interpretate sex. There are three different types of interpretations, one is the video clip of the movie little red riding hood, second is a little red riding hood from online website, and third is a little red riding hood comic book.
In the video clip little red riding hood can be about sex because of the way she seems very attractive. She wears red lipstick and has a red cap, the color red is known to attract people, is a color of romance, exotic, or love. This is more of a scene for adults then kids.
In the story in the website of little red riding hood it is also known to interpretate sex because its almost as a warning to young children. Every fairy tale has a message to the readers. In this little red riding hood is more for little kids to understand that you need to becareful to who you talk to because there are many people that are out there to do something bad. Shes more of a curious girl that doesn't know whats around her so she is more helpless for herself since she is still learning.
In the little red riding hood comic book everything is the same and it can interpretate sex. She still has her red cap, she looks like a very attractive girl. The parents tell little red riding hood to be careful and not to talk to strangers. Instead she does it, and flirts a lot more with the wolf then all the other versions. The wolf sounds more of a pervert as well, saying thing like "I wanna eat her up", or "she looks very delicous, and tender". Once she went threw everything at the end she went threw the forest again but this time when another wolf went up to her she ran away, because she had learned her lesson the first time around.

Jack and the magic beans

Jack and the magic beans is a very famous fairy tale told to kids for entertainment. An old man had given Jack magic beans, when he got home his mother expected money but dint get any. She grabbed the beans and threw them out the window. The next morning jack woke up went outside and found that his beans had grown into a giant tree. Jack climbed it and found a ogre house he would then robbed food, and money to take home. The ogre chased him down and he called for his mother to cut down the tree, the ogre had then fallen and died. In Enchanted there is also a similar Jack and the magic beans only it is not for kids, and has different characteristics. Jack starts of as a cold hearted person "As a professional giant killer most folks think I know a thing or two about the ugly bastards". The jack in enchanted is also different because instead of the beans growing in the floor, jack actually eats them to have magical power and strength. He has a bean for every occasion. Also instead of jack cutting the tree down to killed the ogre, in Enchanted he slays every ogre head of and saves the people from the towns. The original Jack is known for his poor living with his mother, nothing to eat as well. In Enchanted Jack seems to be respected by the people, but he is still poor and waste all his money on alcohol. The author made Jack differently from the original fairy tale to give a different point of view. In one hand Jack is an innocent boy not being suspected of anything, and in Enchanted Jack is clearly portrayed as a assassin of the ogres.

Fairy tale characters in comic book

In the comic book of "Legends the enchanted" there are many fairy tale characters being used. First you see Jack and the magic beans, Pinocchio, Little red riding hood, Hansel and Gretel. Each character has its own signature for being the fairy tale characters they are. For example you know jack has magic beans in a little bag that he uses to overcome many obstacles, Pinocchio is tied up to the chains as if he was tied up with strings being used as a puppet, little red riding hood is wearing her red hoodie, and Hansel is always screaming for her brother gretel for help. Each character is known for the way they look or act.

Fairy tale characters that I can remember

  1. Red riding hood
  2. Peter pan
  3. Hensel and gretel
  4. The three little pigs
  5. Tinker bell
  6. Pinochio
  7. Cindarella
  8. Snow white
  9. Beauty and the beast

3 plots in Runaways

The main three plots are very important in the comic book "Runaways". In the first book the main plot is when all the kids walk in to alex parents secret layer in back of the game room. They all go walk in to see whats at the end, and they find a window that is see through, they find all their parents wearing wierd customes and talking about their plans, then alex parents brings out a young girl then pulls out a knife and kills her or a sacrafice for their clan. The kids get scared because now they know the truth that their parents are not just ordinary parents they are mastermind villians. The main plot in second book of "Runaways" is when all the kids gather up to talk about what they had seen. They also wanted to see if they should call the police to report their parents for killing a young girl. Then they agreed to do so and when they called the police officer he did not believe one word that Alex was trying to tell them and then hanged up. This is the main plot because they dont know why their parents are evil masterminds and feel guilty that they are reporting their own parents to the police. The main plot in the third book of "Runaways" is when the kids walks in to another layer and see a holographic of her parents telling her that she is incharge of their job because shes the next generation. Then they tell her where the book to all secrets are and she gets it but notices that the language is not normal and is out of this world. Then one girl realizes that she has powers and could fly, then everyone thinks if they, themselves have super powers that they dont know of.

The dark knight

In the first book of the dark knight the main plot is being said throughout the whole story. The dark knight is retiring from his daily job of putting criminals away into prison. He feels that he is old enough to retire from protecting the Gotham city, he feels that he is not powerful enough to maintain against strong criminals. When the city realized that there will be no more dark knight to protect them, they went crazy, and wondered what would happen to them. The media made things worse by publishing news about the retirement of dark knight threw the TV and news paper. With the retirement of dark knight being spread threw out the whole city, criminals were alarmed that this was there moment to do what they want. The dark knight had a lot of thinking to go threw to see if he was really going to quit his duties or continue on putting criminals in their place.

Pa and Ma kent are scared because they dont know what clark might end up doing with his powers, if he will use it for the good or bad. Assessment Graphic Novels

In this blog I will be comparing and contrasting two comic books, named “Witch”, and “Wolverine”. I will be comparing and contrasting the colors, shadow, and panel size of both stories. “Witch” is about a girl that hears voices in her head which ends up being her familiar, a monster cat that is under her command with great power. Once she found out her powers she used it to escape from criminals, save her boyfriend, and save her uncle which at the end died. Hunters are the people chasing her trying to take away her familiar. “Wolverine” is about a man mutated with powers of healing, and metal claws that were inserted by the scientist. He then becomes a super hero working in the group called X-men, but throughout the whole story he tries to save a girl that he has strong feelings towards.
In both comic books one of the important things is the color being used. In “Witch”, and “Wolverine” one thing that compares is how they use their color to go with the actions , as well as the mood that is taking place in the scene. For, example Kylie from “Witch” was walking down an ally the scene was dark almost like a warning to the readers that something bad was going to happen. Which it did, a man with a knife tried to steal her belonging. The colors used were purple, brown, black, setting a tense mood; this led to know the readers that there are dangerous problems. In “Wolverine” it’s almost the same message when dark colors are used. Logan walked into a cave looking for a monster that has been bothering people, the scene got dark because there was going to be action happening, even his words went with the dark mood, he said “perfect for an ambush. Better let him come to me”. So the author uses color to convey the mood and actions to the readers. The contrasting part is that “Witch” is pretty dark throughout the whole story, as “Wolverine” is not; some scenes have bright colors that represent Logan’s image. Also in “Witch” colors are well colored in, in “Wolverine” the colors are not to well colored in the comic book.
Another important element is the panel size used in both comic books. In” witch” and in “Wolverine” panels can be compared together. Panel sizes are used in both to state the importance of the scene and let you focus on what’s happening throughout the scene. For example, In “Witch” the scene were Kylie falls into the ground and her inner familiar comes out to attack the criminal, the panel takes half the page. In “Wolverine” the scene were Logan walked into the apartment that he and his girlfriend lived in, and found his long time friend dead in the floor, realizing that his wife had killed him but he didn’t know why. The panel size also takes half the page, to let the readers know that this is important part of the comic book. A difference between both their panels is that the small panels in “witch” aren’t usually important, and in “Wolverine” each panel are important and follow up each moment of the story. Another difference is that in “Wolverine” the really small panel size are used to express what Logan is thinking in his head.
The last important key to the comic book is the shadow that’s being used in both. In “Witch” last volume, page 17, second panel the author made Kylie’s face one sided shadow, and behind her bright colors. The side of the shadow of her face represented a dark side of evilness that’s inside her because she wanted to kill the man that hurt her uncle, and had taken away her mother. Another clue is that inside the shadow of her face Kylie had a red dot inside her eyes. In “Wolverine”, page 21, first panel, were Logan just killed the father of his loved one, and the lord daughter walks in to see. The artist used shadow to represent the dark mood that is occurring in that scene. The biggest shadow is the guy’s daughter Mariko, she takes half the panel. This is to represent the importance of the scene, because she was clueless of what was happening. The artist also shadowed Logan to almost hide his feelings of killing her father, or even to represent that it wasn’t in an importance to him.
In Conclusion, I’ve compared both the “Witch”, and the “Wolverine”. I compared the color, panel size, and shadow that are in each comic book. Each one of these elements makes up the comic book, and shows its importance to the readers. If some of these parts weren’t in the comic book you might not be able to understand it. The color brings out the characters, the panel size show the importance of the scene, and the shadow bring out the importance of both the character and scene.

Wolverine

According to the first four pages in the comic book "Wolverine" is a superhero that likes to do his job to leave everything in the world equally balanced, he even says it himself "Now's the time to balance the books". Wolverine also has characteristic of an animal hunting others down, he says " I look, listen, smell, wait" while hes looking for a berserker. He is an expert on his surroundings, "This is my home...Land as stark an elemental as my soul". Wolverine is a good fighter because he ends up killing a monster twice as big a him, and His body is able to withstand anything that comes his way, "My skeletons laced with the same stuff which means it can withstand virtualy any amount of punishment".

Witch Shocking Moments

In witch there were some shocking moments that left me surprised. One was in page 13 halfway of the comic book Kylie and Roger try to go save Aaron that’s being held as a hostage by the hunters. They walk in and start fighting hitting every hunter, they saw Aaron tied up, but then suddenly everything stopped and Meredith, Rogers’s wife, was there in the hunter’s side pointing a gun at Rogers head. Another shocking moment was at the end of the comic book were the hunters went back to report to their big boss that Kylie escaped with her familiar, you couldn't see who the boss was because it was covered from head to toe, he started walking into a cell room, and then there was a women sitting inside the cell floor, all she says is "Kylie is still alive", and then finish. The woman at the end was Kylie mom apparently because the boss said "her daughter will never find her". Both these scenes are similar because they are very unexpected throughout the whole story nothing led up to these parts, and the clues were hard to find that this would of happened, almost every time something weird was going to happen the scenes got dark. The difference is that they each had their moments of shocking someone, when I saw Meredith holding a gun I thought she was being controlled by the hunters, because I could’ve never thought his wife would do that to him but then I kept reading and found out that she was really a hunter. The end part was hard to understand unless you were really into the book and figured that the few words she said was about Kylie her daughter, so it left you shocked and clueless on what can happen next.

Imaginary Friend

An imaginary friend is someone or something you create with your head to be part of your life that has its own personality. Some people have imaginary friends because they might feel lonely so they need someone to comunicate with or build a relationship with, and even lets them escape from the real world. The girls mom and dad can't see the imaginary friend because its not what they are imagining its only seen threw the little girls eyes because she is the creator, and when your an adult your most likely not to believe in certain things a kid would. The imaginary friend for the little girl doesnt exist for us but it does to her.

Jaws

In "Jaws" in the beginning of the movie a women is running towards the ocean and a man is following her into the water as well. She got into the water and swimed very far, the guy passed out in the shore while she stayed by her self. Then the camera from inside the water comes from down up looking at the girls feet while shes still swimming, and then without her expecting it she gets bitten by a shark, she helplessly screams for help but there was nobody around, the shark drags her all around the water, she grabbed a buoy but wasn't strong enough to hold on. This scene is scary because everyone likes to swim, and when we go into the water we don't think about the shark coming at us to kill us. Another thing that makes the scene scary is the setting it takes place in, her hard screaming, and the music that plays out.

Scariest Scene

In "30 days of night" there’s a scene where it starts to get very scary. In page 22/23 a group vampires start walking to the town, a man and a women look threw binoculars and see so many vampires with blood in their sharp teeth, even a little girl looking hungry and ready to kill people.

In "Night dance" page 13 one of the scariest moments was when Michael Myers is sitting down in front of a fireplace and has a body that’s burning in the fire, the guy also had a knife stuck in his throat. Michael Myers looks like he’s being entertained by this burning body that’s in front of him, which to us would be very disturbing.

Another scary moment in "Night Dance" page 21 is when a girl is being chased by Michael Myers and she runs in front of  car and ends up killing her. The couple stop and check to make sure she’s ok, but Michal had been following her and sees her dead and comes out from the dark with a knife and stabs the girl that went to check on her. Which she never expected to happen to her, her husband comes out the car and starts to cry. Michael apparently did it for fun and puts her in the guys eyes to see her slowly die.

Compare and Contrast

A contrasting part of stories, Halloween Night Dance, and 30 days of night is that they have different situations of what’s happening. In Halloween Night Dance Michael Myers is just a sick headed person that goes around killing people on the day of Halloween, you can see this in page 20 were he sticks his knife into a women’s chest from behind. As In 30 days of night its about vampires that invade a small town that has been in the dark for days which let the vampires roam around getting ready to kill people, you can see this in page 17, and page 22 where the vampires are starting to walk towards the town in a big group.

Compare and Contrast Art work

There are similarities of art work used in both "30 days of night", and "Halloween Night Dance". In both stories the artist use dark colors every time something bad is going to happen, like in "30 days of night" in page 13 when the vampire walks into the police station the mood got darker even the character itself. As in "Night Dance" in page 8 were the girl is tied up to a door screaming for help. But There are also differences of the art work used in both stories. In "Night Dance" the artist used more detailed drawing even of the surroundings, you can see this in page 7 were the car is driving away and compare it to page 4 of "30 days of night" were the police car is with the siren light. The artist also used brighter colors throughout the story to support the mood or the time of year which is in October. In "30 days of Night" the artwork is not very detailed, its simple sketching maybe to attract the readers more into the words than the picture. The artist also used more dark colors every scene to set a mood of horror or tense.

Predator or Parasite

Like a Polar bear eating a seal. Jenifer eats any living thing in her way to survive. Jenifer can be considered more of a predator than parasite. I think Jenifer is a predator because she puts fear into people’s eyes and makes them feel hopeless. But before people see her face they think she’s just a regular girl that needs help, this can be a way towards attacking her pray so that sooner or later she can live of it by eating it. As a human would see a polar bear and think they were so cute that they would want to pet them, would only lead to a mistake. The polar bear doesn’t do anything and just waits for the moment so they can strike and eat you. Almost like Jenifer that stocks its prey and waits till the moment is right. We can see Jenifer act like a predator when she had a body of a man she killed put in her freezer so she can eat when she’s hungry. Also when Jim wanted to give Jenifer up she convinced him by crying and giving him a sad face, which made Jim feel bad and took her back home to the farm, that same time she ended up kidnapping a boy and eating him.

                                                                 Revised
Like a Polar bear eating a seal. Jenifer eats any living thing in her way to survive. A predator is an organism that lives by preying on other organism. Jennifer is also like a predator because predators are known to getting rid of their competition that they see is dangerous to them. Clearly, Jenifer got rid of the cat that was in jim house, and she also got rid of jim wife by makin her move out the house with his kids, only leaving her with Jim. That is why Jenifer fits more into the predator category, shes an organism that moves from one to another to live of them, they kill to live.

Isolation pic 3

(Picture don’t post) The meaning of isolation can be found in a scene were Jim is laying down on the floor with the light only surrounding him, and darkness all around him, the artist also added a design to the picture were Jim looks to be trapped in a mouth. This isolation is a sign of Jim being trapped by his own soul, he almost feels guilty about what Jenifer has done to others so he tries to forget about it by drinking and reminiscing that he should’ve never saved her from dying.

Isolation pic 2

(picture doesn't post) When Jim moved into a farm and was standing alone right next to his farm house can be considered isolation. This scene is isolation because Jim moved from the city down to a farm house moving away from people, because he wanted to be alone with Jenifer. Jim even says "We found an abandoned farm house, I hit the bottle, forgot about work. Existence was a muddied montage..." (pg. 8).

Isolation pic 1

(Won’t let me post picture) In the scene, the bed is in the middle of the room everything is dark and Jim is in the bed. The camera view is from the roof of the room looking down on Jim. This scene is isolation because the author put the view of the scenario far to show that Jim is alone in a room away from people. The author also wants to make readers feel they are away from Jim by the view. The room is also dark and Jim covers himself with his blanket so that nobody can see him through the window.

Jenifers Smells...

When you read the comic book of Jenifer and you see her you know shes ugly, regarding to the question of how Jenifer smells, I think she smells attractive to others, it couldn't smell bad because they never complained, the wife never tolled her husband to get her out because she smelled, she just dint want her in the house because she was hideous. Also when the man came threw the woods and saved her, he never complained about Jenifer's smell, he actually thought it was a normal girl until he turned her around.

The Crow is Despair

Despair means loss of hope, someone or something that causes hopelessness. The graphic novel, The Crow is an exact example of the word despair. The crow is about a man that loses his wife to some thugs when his car broke down. First they shoot him in the head but he dint die, and then they try to rape his wife, but instead they cut her head off. After the death of his wife his heart was torn in to pieces. He felt mad because he promised her nothing would ever happen to her. He wanted revenge for the murder of his wife by killing all the guys that were there that night. Eric felt lonely and hopeless without his wife in his life.

Some examples of the book were it shows despair is when Eric see's a white horse running free in the wild, but then at some point the horse is running and doesn’t notice there is barbwire and gets tangled and hurt. Eric cry’s like he’s lost something that’s valuable to him and it’s his happiness. Eric felt hopeless and tangled in his heart that he lost that one person that made him feel happy. Eric lays down in the couch thinking about his wife, and all the happy times he’s had with her. This is a moment of despair for Eric because he sleeps in the couch all alone.  When he has a big bed in his room but doesn’t go there because it reminds him of her. He stares into the ceiling just wondering how things could’ve been different if she was still alive.

Another example is when Eric holds his head, grinding his teeth, eyes griming closed and all he hears is “why are you doing this to yourself?”. This scenario is dark and a moment of despair where Eric wants to stop thinking about everything. He hates remembering everything that had happened in the past because it makes him even more frustrated, and makes him feel lonely. He knows he’s only hurting himself by thinking about his dead wife.Eric sits down near the window also looking out, with his arms crossed across his legs, the mood is dark colored in his house the only thing giving light inside is the light from the outside coming in through the window. Giving a sensation that he wants to be alone. This is also a scene of despair because Eric looks sad, and hopeless, just wondering about something looking out.  The house also looks like a mess, the little tree he has next to him is dead with nothing on it, almost a sign of he doesn’t care about anything no more.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

How is the Crow a book about DESPAIR? The book can be compared with the word despair, because after the death of his wife the crow has no hope of living, his heart was broken. The scenes in the story are equivalent to the word despair, there are Some parts were his house is a mess and isnt taken care of, laying down looking into nowhere feeling hopeless without a chance of living life like he was with his wife. He feels mad and lonely, since she was his everything. Every night he sits in his house crying, and remorse of all the good times he had with her.

The Mask

The artist gave Eric (the crow) a mask that looked more like a tragedy, but to the side of the mask he drew sort of a smiling face trying to almost hide the pain and comparing them both. Eveytime time Eric is in his house he remembers all the good times he had spent with his wife, and then brakes down crying. It's almost like a movie that starts of good, and happy, but then at the end you see the reality and it hurts even more. I think the artist drew the mask this way so that the readers can see that Eric is in pain from losing his wife and everything he had, but at the same time the smiling face is a way to hide his feelings from it, and even can be a pleasure he has of putting fear or killing criminals that do harm to others. An example of this is when Eric (the crow) is driving Tom Tom crazy, he cuts the lights of speaking to him in the dark, circles all around him, Tom Tom desperately scared shooting anywhere he heard noise. The Crow kept laughing and taunting Tom Tom, and then Tom just fell to the ground giving up, looking helpless against the Crow. The Crow looked as if he was powerful putting fear into Tom eyes. The mask are a way of showing his feelings, because at one point in his life he was happy with everything he had, everything was great, but then after the death of his wife everything had turned into tragedy, his life was a wreck, and full of anger.

Both eric (the crow) from the story is viewed the same way as a crow has been viewed for centurys even by native americans, which is as a trickster, a villain, and also a superhero. The crow is seen as a person that only cares for himself after the death of his wife. Which comparing to a real crow it is know to be cruel and has no regards for anyone but himself. Eric (the crow) is a very deceit person that only goes around the night killing or putting fear in criminals eyes with his face covered all in white with his eyes covered with black paint wearing a long black jacket almost as a disguise to hide in the dark. Crows are also know to be a master of deceit in diguises, which lets the crow carry on his tendency to tease or annoy. Because the author trys to compare both he gives the comic a dark vibe of tention, or also for the ability for eric to hide. But other than that in the story Eric (the crow) is also looked as a hero, because he goes around killing criminals that terror the city. Threw out century the crow has been know by native americans as a hero, or the reason of the beginning of mankind.

My name is Oscar Cardozo and this is my blog chill spot

Hi, my name is Oscar Cardozo, I'm 18 years old, and Ive been in Voyages High School for 2 years. My Experience here has been great. I have learned many things threw out these years, like improving in my English writing, and reading skills. Frances Bolton, one of the best English teacher as others, have introduce me many different experiences in English class.

Sometimes its been a struggle, and sometimes its been fun. one of the most important things I have accomplished with her help is pass the English regents. Chris our second teacher in class, has also been a very exciting, and funny teacher that always knows how to convert boring things into fun things. Which has been a great help for me threw out my school years.

In my last three months at Voyages I plan to put all my effort into graduating. One of my last classes of English is with Frances and Chris that will be teaching Graphic Novels. I know it will be challenging because threw out my life I havent read much comic books, and even though there isn't a lot of words to read Ive notice that the illustration to comics brings out the best of them, and you have to learned to see it in a different perspective to understand it more clearly. I plan to get a lot out of this class, improve my writing, analyzing comics, improve my reading, and many more things that can come along the class.

This picture is of Spiderman. One the greatest comic book superhero character I have read. Hes a young student with a bright future in day, but when theres crime involved spiderman was there to resolve it. Spiderman was a hero for the city, when he was there he brought fear to the criminals eyes. His superpowers never really let him down as much but when it did Spiderman would use his intellegence to solve anything one thought couldn`t be solved. One of the most famous phrases to be said in the comic book of Spiderman is "With great power, comes great responsibility".
